TL;DR

    • Expel was named a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Managed Detection And Response Services, Q1 2025
    • We achieved a score of five out of five in 15 MDR service-related criteria
    • We’re actively tracking on continued areas of improvement

As someone who has been in this industry for quite some time, I realize there are certain things that aren’t easy to achieve. I also know when these key milestones are met, they’re worth celebrating.

That’s why I’m pleased to announce Expel has been named a leader in The Forrester Wave™: Managed Detection and Response Services, Q1 2025 report. Due to all of the Expel team’s hard work and dedication, we’ve received a five out of five score in 15 of the categories scored by Forrester for this report.

For their part, Forrester has done all the work—they researched, analyzed, and scored the most significant MDR vendors in the market—and now you get to reap the benefits by learning about who the leaders are in this space.

About the Forrester Wave

A little background; Forrester is a trusted research advisory firm, and is constantly sharing reports, guides, and other resources to help B2B buyers navigate the endless tech market. Their reports are some of the most heavily researched (and therefore trusted) resources available to buyers, and so being included is a big deal to us.

The Forrester Wave™ reports are “guides for buyers considering their purchasing options in a technology marketplace.” In The Forrester Wave™: Managed Detection And Response Services, Q1 2025, they evaluated MDR vendors against 21 criteria, and then used the scores to calculate a placement for each vendor with respect to a vendor’s strength in their current offering and their strategy.

What Forrester had to say about Expel

Aside from providing quantitative scores for each vendor in 21 criteria, Forrester also creates a profile for each vendor. Here’s what Forrester had to say about Expel:

“Expel’s strategy continues to successfully strike a balance between human delivery and software-enabled platforms that few in the cybersecurity market can replicate. Its vision is to make its 1000th customer feel like its first customer. Rapid onboarding, unmatched transparency for its customers, and plans to expand its access to customer data wherever its stored confirm the provider is still plugged into what MDR customers need.”

And we can confirm we’re working around the clock on accessing data where it’s stored. We continue to invest in the extensive set of integrations across all of our customers’ security stacks while rolling out new capabilities. In fact, we recently announced a partnership with Sumo Logic, and have another cloud announcement coming soon. And we’re just getting started on what we have planned for 2025.

“Expel is an excellent choice for tech-forward enterprise customers looking for a premium provider to manage the entirety of the detection and response lifecycle.”

The Forrester Wave™: Managed Detection and Response Services, Q1 2025

I have to admit, we’re a little biased, but we absolutely agree. But it doesn’t stop there as we continue to strive to offer an MDR service that exceeds the security outcomes our customers expect.
