TL;DR

  • Expel’s integration with Wiz Defend upgrades your cloud security from a static posture to active defense
  • This partnership moves beyond simply flagging potential vulnerabilities to catching active exploits as they happen in your cloud environment
  • Customers of Expel and Wiz Defend get richer alert context, leading to faster response times and streamlined security across any multi-cloud setup

Your cloud security is about to get a serious upgrade. We’re excited to announce Expel’s latest integration with Wiz Defend is now live. We’ve graduated from being a launch partner (though we loved the early access) to bring this awesome tech to everyone. And while we were at it, our trusty Wiz Cloud integration got a refresh, too.

The scoop on Wiz Cloud vs. Wiz Defend

You might be wondering, “What’s the difference, and why should I care?” Great question!

  • Wiz Cloud (your cloud security posture buddy): Think of Wiz Cloud as your eagle-eyed friend who scans your cloud setup for any static oopsies—like an S3 bucket accidentally left open to the world or a misconfigured security setting. It’s great for showing you where you might have a weak spot. It’s like checking all the locks and windows before you leave the house.
  • Wiz Defend (your real-time cloud detective): Wiz Defend is all about cloud detection and response (CDR). It’s like having a detective actively patrolling your cloud neighborhood, watching for any shady characters or actual break-ins as they happen. It monitors real-time cloud events and runtime activity, sniffing out active exploits. It helps answer the question, “Is this a real fire or just a drill?”

Less guesswork, more action

Remember trying to jury-rig static CSPM rules to catch fast-moving cloud threats? Not ideal. With Expel’s integration with Wiz Defend, our SOC team leverages a specialized arsenal of around 2,000 runtime security rules. These aren’t your average CSPM rules; they’re crafted specifically to spot suspicious behavior and live threats in your cloud environment. So you get more precision, and less noise. Our analysts can leverage these rule sets to provide our customers with more proactive cloud security.

Benefits to mutual customers of Wiz and Expel include:

  • More context and sharper security: No more vague alerts. We correlate Wiz alerts with telemetry across your environment (email, SaaS, etc.) and have the context we need to connect the dots across your tools, allowing us to up our game in spotting real threats thanks to actionable cloud threat intelligence.
  • Multi-cloud security without the migraines: Got workloads scattered across different clouds? No sweat! We bring you streamlined security for your entire multi-cloud setup—from containers and Kubernetes to full-on cloud detection and response, CNAPP, and cloud workload protection. It’s like getting a universal translator for cloud security.
  • Speedy and spot-on detection and response: When Wiz and Expel team up, we get real-time event correlation and enrichment, allowing us to serve up deep context faster. This means more accurate threat detection across the broadest range of cloud environments, so we can spot trouble quickly.

We were excited to partner with Wiz as one of only five MDR launch partners for Wiz Defend. Our strong partnership means we’re perfectly positioned to help you make the most of this cutting-edge tech, combining Wiz’s cloud-native threat detection with our own security operations smarts.

With Expel and Wiz Defend, your cloud isn’t just configured securely; it’s actively defended. We’re excited to bring this next-level protection to you to stop the bad guys in their tracks.
